President's Volunteer Service Award
Congratulations! Jessica is being
awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award! This award is
issued by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation on
behalf of the President of the United States to recognize the best in
the American spirit and encourage all Americans to contribute to their
communities through volunteer service.
Last fall United Way of Champaign County nominated Jessica for the
Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. Jessica helped create a
presentation to other students about volunteering. She has also
given many hours volunteering through the United Way’s middle school
leaf raking program. In addition she has been active volunteering
at her former school, her neighborhood and the community.
The presentation of a certificate and a letter from the President will
take place at Countryside School on Friday, March 14 at Noon.
The all–school assembly will include entertainment by Dave the Math Dog
(as seen on David Letterman).
