With more than thirty-five years in education, Cathie Webber has been our Head of School for the past fourteen years.  She graduated with a B. S. in Communications from the University of Illinois and obtained her M. Ed. in Elementary Education (specializing in education of gifted and talented) also from the U of I.

Cathie taught several years in the public schools including serving as a gifted teacher and also as a gifted program coordinator.   More recently, she has taught elementary and middle school performing arts.  Her passion for theater has led her to direct and produce over 50 productions.

She has received the “Those Who Excel” award from the Illinois State Board of Education and “The Golden Apple Award” from WICD-TV.  In addition to being recognized for her contributions to teaching, Cathie has been a conference and seminar presenter on several educational topics.  She has both chaired and served as a member of (ISACS) Independent Schools Association of Central States accreditation teams.  

Cathie has served on numerous local boards including the Champaign-Urbana Schools Foundation, The Reading Group, Red Cross of Champaign County, World Heritage Museum, and also served as the president of Junior League of Champaign-Urbana.
