Countryside School Wins Regional Competition

Countryside School’s middle school team won the MATHCOUNTS 2008 Regional Competition on February 9, 2008 at the University of Illinois.
In addition to the school’s team placing first, Countryside student Edo placed 1st in individual competition and was the Countdown Round winner. George placed 2nd in individual competition. Arun and Patrick placed 4th and 6th respectively, and Chelsea placed 11th. The school’s 1st place team consisted of Edo, Arun, Patrick and Chelsea.
The students were honored by the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers on Friday, February 22 at a banquet at the Lincolnshire Fields Country Club. The team will compete in the State Competition this Saturday, March 8 in Matteson, IL.
MATHCOUNTS is a national math enrichment, coaching and competition program. Its mission is to increase enthusiasm for and enhance achievement in middle school mathematics throughout the United States.
