Community Service

Countryside emphasizes responsibility and commitment to the community.

We challenge students to become valued contributors to society. Each class generally does at least one major project each year and often teachers organize additional smaller projects for their classes. Past projects have benefited such organizations as:

  • St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital
  • Center for Women in Transition
  • Malaria No More
  • Champaign Head Start
  • Swann Center
  • Tsunami Relief
  • The Times Center
  • Crisis Nursery
  • Champaign County Humane Society
  • our troops overseas
  • Arthritis Foundation
  • Christopher Reeve Foundation
  • Eastern Illinois Foodbank

As part of the 2nd/3rd grade simple machines unit in science, they assembled bikes and then donated the bikes with helmets to the Center for Women in Transition.
