Countryside Welcomes New Head of School

We welcome Stephanie Harman and her family to Countryside! The Harmans moved to Champaign this month, and Mrs. Harman is settling in at the school.

Following a national search, Countryside School's Board of Directors appointed Stephanie Harman as our new Head of School. She spent the past four years as Head of Middle School at Maumee Valley Country Day School in Toledo, OH.She graduated with a BS in Elementary Education from Eastern Michigan University and obtained her MS in Science Education at Walden University, Minneapolis, MN.

Prior to serving as Head of Middle School, Mrs. Harman taught Middle School Science and served as Science Department Chair at Maumee Valley.She also served as an Elementary Science Lab teacher in Michigan previously and has explored environmental challenges in the Galapagos Islands through the Toyota International Teachers Program.Mrs. Harman is a frequent conference and seminar presenter on technology in the classroom – including presenting Technology in the 21st Century Classroom: It's NOT about the Apps at the Independent Schools Association of Central States (ISACS) annual conference.

We are also pleased to welcome Stephanie's spouse, Kevin, and their two children as members of the Countryside community.
