Why Give to Countryside?
Gifts are necessary because tuition does not cover all of the facilities, talent, resources and programs that make our independent school so special. This means:
- Our extensive Professional Development Program for our talented teachers
- Additional reading and math resources not available in many public schools
- Up-to-date technology
- Flexibility to introduce new curriculum units
- Accommodations for different learning styles
- And exceptional offerings in everything from the arts to athletics
While a child is in school at Countryside, all this translates into more personal attention, increased intellectual stimulation, better discipline, and more rigor. In the future, it will mean greater credibility behind the academic credentials each individual child will possess throughout life. There are many ways to give at Countryside School, outlined below.
The Excellence Fund
The Excellence Fund is Countryside's annual giving program. It pays for many aspects of the excellent education our students receive, from books to equipment to staff training. These are not "extras." They are integral to the school's high quality and help us achieve our mission. A perfect example is professional development for all faculty and staff—a necessity for any school that wants its staff to keep learning and improving their skills!
Gym & Performing Arts Center
Gifts earmarked towards the Gym & Performing Arts Center will help us complete the vision that our students experience on a daily basis at Countryside – whether it be for no-cut sports, a poetry slam, or acting out a self-written play. This 13,000 SF addition to our school houses a high school-sized gymnasium with regulation basketball and volleyball courts; a permanent raised stage with professional theatrical lighting and sound; changing rooms; a theatrical makeup room; restrooms; catering kitchen with concessions area; and new administrative office space.
