Our "no cut" policy ensures everyone plays

COVID-19:  This year we opened our competitive teams to only middle schoolers to avoid mixing our elementary and middle school cohorts. We play competitive games, but masks are required to be worn indoors - for both athletes and spectators.

Our after school competitive sports program is open to students in 4th – 8th grade. Our after school sports clubs start as early as 1st grade.

Everyone interested may join the team. There are no tryouts. Incorporating “joy in learning", we emphasize individual contributions to the team.

The teams practice after school and participate in competitive play with similar schools. Generally, teams are divided into junior varsity (4th-6th grades) and varsity (6th-8th grades). We offer:

  • Girls' basketball – junior varsity and varsity
  • Boys' basketball – junior varsity and varsity
  • Coed soccer – junior varsity and varsity
  • Girls' volleyball – junior varsity and varsity

We also have after school sports clubs, and all the following are co-ed:

  • Cross Country Club - fall - 4th-8th grade
  • Tennis Club - beginning - fall - 1st-4th grade
  • Tennis Club - advanced - fall - 4th-8th grade
  • Archery Club - spring - 6th-8th grade
  • Club Basketball - spring - 4th-8th grade
  • Club Volleyball - spring - 6th-8th grade
  • Track Club - spring - 4th-8th grade

Our sports program's main goals are for everyone to play and to enjoy their experience. We focus on skill-building and friendly competition. Learning teamwork and how to work and play with everyone are important components. We believe that students should not only learn about the sports, but feel comfortable performing in each sport they play. Go Comets!
